For over a century, Congregation Ezrath Israel, also known as the Ellenville
Shul, has been at the center of Jewish life in the Catskills. We have been
there for the simchas, and at times of loss, for generations of upstate
Jewish families. We have been a place for the many visitors who pass through
the area during the year, providing a place to daven, to spend Shabbos
and to soak in our hospitality.
We have a Bais Medrash, Mikvah, Catering Hall, and a newly refurbished
library. Our Sisterhood and Mens' Club sponsor events to help support us.
Times have changed though, and we find it necessary to reach out to you,
to keep our shul alive. Money has become tight, but we don't want to cut
any of services that we have been providing to our community and beyond.
We look forward to the prospect of becoming the home of a brand new Bais
Yaakov High School. The first year will begin, IYH, in Sept. 2010 with
a 9th grade. The potential for growth is great and the impact on the Jewish
community now, will be signifcant.
We need your help, to maintain the shul, to help support the new Bais
Yaakov, to help us continue to be the center of Jewish life in the Catskills
and an oasis for all Jews passing through.
This year also marks the 25th anniversary of Rabbi & Rebbetzin Frank
in the Ellenville community. We will be honoring them in the spring. A
donation in their honor will encourage us to continue in our Avodas HaKodesh.
Donations can be sent to:
